4 PRODUCTS FOR SENSITIVE SKIN IN THE WINTER

I've been pretty open on the blog before about how sensitive my skin is and how many problems I have had in the past. It's not easy for me to just go out and buy any old skin product and use it to the point where I have amazing results. For this reason, it has taken me until now to realize what is great for my skin and what I will most likely always use. Today I'm sharing with you in hopes that you'll be able to see why I love these products and why they're worth it if you have sensitive skin.

This Clarins Lotion Tonique has been quite the ride. I have been using it for about a month or so now and I really like it. Out of all the products in this post, this is probably the only thing that I would consider switching out for something else. When I first started using it, I didn't like it. I thought it was a little weird for the sole reason that I felt like I was getting red patches all over my face. I guess it was just a mental thing, because I would wake up in the morning and they wouldn't be there. I was trying to convince myself that I didn't like it for some reason.

Now after about a month or so of using it, I really enjoy it. Before using this, I was just using a normal more harsh toner from the drugstore that I still love. I switched it out for this toning lotion after going to a Clarins skincare event where the woman who did my facial recommended I try this because sometimes a normal toner can be way too strong and acidic.

True to that, I feel that my face is very soft after its application and it's a great transfer right into my moisturizer for the night or for the day. I do use it at both night and in the morning. I love how it takes the day off at night, even after you've already washed your face. Just as an aside, I use the exfoliating pads from Target. I love the way they feel on my face.

I have been using this moisturizer for probably years now and I absolutely wish that I had heard about it sooner. I have definitely talked about it before but I had to include it here for my skincare favorites. This is a fail proof solution for moisturizer. When I tell you that this is perfect for sensitive, I mean it. I had eczema on my face not too long ago and turned to First Aid Beauty for all of my skincare and haven't turned away since. I love the way my skin feels after I use it, and it's great to reapply throughout the day if you feel like you need to. I always have it in my work bag because working in the city always takes every drop of moisture out of my skin.

This Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment is something I only use when I have a blemish (obviously). It's really the best blemish treatment I have found and it's the most affordable. I believe it's between $4 and $6 and it's the best purchase I have made when it comes to pimples. If you have something sneaking up on you, squeeze a little bit out onto your finger and apply it to the spot. In the morning you will significantly notice the reduction in redness and the spot overall.

Let me be honest, there are very few days when I use both of these cleansers in the shower on one day. Most of the time I am using the First Aid Beauty cleanser on it's own, but I wanted to include both in the blog post. I love the FAB cleanser because of how soft and sensitive it is. Once again perfect for sensitive skin, but at the same it cleans and leaves your skin feeling completely fresh and that's what I love the most.

On days when I feel like I need to "take the day off" more than normal, I use the Clean and Clear Exfoliating Scrub. It's abrasive enough to feel like it's exfoliating, but it's not too abrasive where it's hurting your skin. I love the cooling affect that it has on the skin as well. Again, great to use once in a while, but not every single day.

Let me know if you have used any of these skincare products. If you have any suggestions for some great products that are awesome for sensitive skin, tweet me and let me know. Thanks for reading!

  1. I might have to check out the first aid line. I've been looking for a moisturizer for my face. My skin gets dry especially in the winter time. However since my skin is sensitive some moisturizers irritate my face as well as mositurzing it. I would love to find a product that just moisturized my skin and not irritate it!

  2. Girl, I've struggled with my face for SO long! I'm so sensitive. When I was younger, my dermatologist said I was creating "chemical warfare" on my face! Yikes. I'll NEVER forget him telling me this. So for me, out with the harsh and what a difference. I use Acure Organics! Love. This is my go to site for ratings: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ Good luck! I totally feel ya!
