Battleview Orchards | Fall 2015

Fall is officially here and we are definitely starting to feel it in the air.  If one thing's for sure, the weather is changing rapidly and I can't say I am thrilled about it.  Apple picking always makes me feel better about the seasons changing though and for the past couple of years, my family has been going to Battleview Orchards in Freehold, NJ.  Here's some pictures from 2015's trip.

When you first enter the orchards there's a ton of parking.  On Wemrock Road (the road that Battleview is on), you pass the country store to get to the orchards.  Traditionally, you usually hit the orchards first and then drive back up to the store to get a bunch of delicious baked goods, hot apple cider donuts, and basically every other delicious fall snack you can think of (hello whoopie pies).

After you've parked, you walk up to the entrance to retrieve a bucket.  There are tons of employees waiting there to instruct you on what to pick that day and time of year, where to go to pick up the best fruit, and any other questions that you might have regarding your day at the orchard.

The fruit was ridiculously plentiful, more than it has ever been in the previous years.  The orchards were gorgeous and it was a stunning day to be out picking fruit.  I think it could have been a little chillier (seasonal) and I definitely wish we could have waited until October, but my cousin was chomping at the bits to go out and get tons of apples to eat and bake with.

We found adorable little tiny apples.  They were the cutest things and so worthy of a photo.  Like I had mentioned, after picking fruit from the orchards, it is tradition to go and pick up some other delicious fall treats from the country store.  The line for the donuts was absolutely incredibly long.  It just goes to show you how many people just go insane for these donuts!  Obviously when they're hot and fresh, they are the best.  It's no secret that they're in ultra demand.  You can get them hot and one at a time at the window outside, or buy them in a package to take home with you for later.

Right outside the store, there were tons of mums.  They looked stunning and colorful all lined up.

After we were done at the orchard, we had worked up an appetite.  We of course had to stop by The Cabin, one of our favorite spots.   More on that tomorrow!

Here is a selfie that I took with my dad.  As you can probably tell, I was shocked that he posed for it, lol.  Where do you go apple picking?  How do you celebrate the fall?  Tweet me and let me know!
