Summer Thus Far: My Obsessions

Oh, sweet summertime.  I am so happy.  This is clearly my favorite season and for so many different reasons.  Not just the weather, but the activities, the family time, the drinks, the friends.  Everything.

As I love everything I mentioned above, there have been a few other things that I've been loving throughout the summer so far and I definitely want to share them with you.

Target (Up&Up) Refreshing Wet Cleaning Towelettes

Who doesn't have face towelettes in their purse during the summer?  Even during the winter.  I really started having this with me at all times because I started my day so early that I was doing makeup on the train ride to work.  I had them because of course it's inevitable to mess up your makeup on a bumpy train ride, but they ended up being so much more than that.  I always reach for them if I'm sweating, hot, or have absolutely no alternative to cleaning my hands off (if I'm out of hand sanitizer, it's a momentary fix).  I don't see the need to buy anything fancy, these Up&Up wipes are my absolute favorite and they're only about $4.  Actually, if you buy them in the 'combo pack' you can get four packages of them (two being smaller sizes for travel) for about $10.  I love it and would definitely recommend them.

Daniel Wellington Classic St. Mawes, Rose Gold

If you don't follow me on social media, you don't know the story of this amazing watch.  I have been lusting after it for about a year now and have been thinking about buying it.  When I saw on Instagram that DW was hosting a giveaway in 4 different cities around the world to celebrate reaching 1 million followers, I couldn't believe it.  The rules were simple: be one of the first three people to meet the team in their posted location on Instagram and win a watch of your choice. I WAS THE FIRST PERSON THERE.  I was so lucky that as soon as they posted their location on Instagram it was literally RIGHT in the front of my office.  I won the watch and I have been in LOVE with it ever since.

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Moisturizer

As you can tell from how much is left in here, it's an absolute favorite of mine.  I spent a ridiculous amount of time in the sun and I really need to get better at applying sunscreen.  I hear it from everyone in my family and all of my friends that I need to be better about it.  So far this summer I have suffered from serious sun poisoning once already and I am trying to make it so it doesn't happen again.  This lotion is the answer to all my burning prayers though.  Whenever you need a cool down, try this out.  I like it because unlike aloe gel, this is not sticky, it's moisturizing and there's nothing I hate more than sticky aloe on painful sunburn.  Although, sometimes in the past, I have resorted to that.

Scentsational Soy Candle, Black Orchid

This is kind of a random throw into the mix.  As you all know, I am obsessed with candles.  This is probably my favorite one so far this summer.  I would say that the scent is a very romantic one and seems very appropriate for night time.  Is that weird?  I don't know.  I just love it and am so happy I was able to score this one for about $7 at Marshalls.  Nice find!

Aveeno Nourish+Condition Leave-In Treatment

I know I've written about or talked about this before, it has been a favorite of mine for years now.  Every summer I find myself reaching for this because when I get out of the water (ocean specifically) my hair is always feeling the pain of the salt.  I am definitely prone to knotty hair as it is so dry and this is the best drugstore solution that I have found.  I actually tend to like this even better than anything I've found elsewhere (Sephora, Ulta, etc.).  Not to mention the smell of this is absolutely amazing and I think it's about $4-$6 at Target!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner, Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I really don't wear makeup in the summer AT ALL but when I have worn it this summer, this is what I have been using.  I have always been a fan of the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner because it always stays on my waterline with no question.  I only wear liner on my waterline because I feel like I look like a joke with it on my top lid.

Roller Lash has been my absolute obsession basically since it came out.  I've talked about it before but I think They're Real and Roller Lash are my two favorite mascaras of all time.  They're a distinct curl with this mascara on the first coat of application that makes me really only have to put on one or two.

Cherry Chapstick, Benefit Gimmie Brow

I do consider summer a time for a bright lip color but only at night.  During the day and when I'm out in the sun, I don't have time for that. I just opt for the classic Cherry Chapstick.  I mean, who doesn't love it?  Also, it has a really low SPF but it still protects me.  If there's one thing I hate during the summer, it's definitely chapped lips, they're disgusting.  Not only for you but for whoever you're kissin' ;)

Gimmie Brow is my favorite brow product by far.  I can't be bothered with anything more complex than this when it comes to brows because I am so bad at it. This is really simple and gives your brows a little definition without looking overdone.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana, Bobbi Brown Beach

I know normally summer is a time for body mists/sprays rather than perfumes but I cannot get enough of both of these all year round. Beach smells exactly like sunscreen but in a more elegant way and Nirvana is pure bliss.  Try them out and let me know what you think!

Has there been anything you've been obsessing over lately?  Leave it in the comments or send me a tweet, because I want to know.  Thanks so much for reading and until next time!  xo Brit
